The Clare Pilgrim Way

The Clare Pilgrim Way has been marking out a pilgrim route linking ancient monastic sites, holy places and cultural centres around the County and a small section of South Galway. The aim is to map a Clare style ‘Camino’ with a Celtic spirituality theme, allowing walkers to follow a pilgrim path linking the significant sacred places, sites of cultural and historical significance and pilgrim routes in the landscape of County Clare. The route passes through mostly country roads but also includes woodland, bog roads and coastal routes and visits the two island monastic sites of Inis Cealtra and Scattery.

The Shindig Traditional Music and Set Dance Festival Weekend

A fun packed weekend of sean-nós dance workshops, live set dance, céilís with Ireland's best ceilí bands & great Irish traditional music and dance sessions.

Eigse Michael Hartnett Literary Festival

A prestigious poetry, literary & arts festival where leading Irish and international poets, writers, thinkers, musicians, dancers, singers and storytellers all come together to celebrate Michael Hartnett, the poet and man.

Kilfenora Music Festival

Come to Kilfenora to enjoy craic and great music during the Kilfenora Music Festival. The first festival was held to celebrate the centenary of the Kilfenora Céilí Band in 2009.

Bealtaine Festival

May belongs to the Bealtaine festival, celebrating creativity as we age! Over 120,000 people now take part in Bealtaine. From dance to cinema, painting to theatre, Bealtaine showcases the talents and creativity of both first-time and professional older artists.

Carrigaholt Oyster Festival

This weekend festival offers fresh oysters and a pint of Guinness or a glass of Champagne. Music and dance in the marquee and all this is in the beautiful village of Carrigaholt.

Féile Na Bealtine

This festival promises to have its widest ever range of cultural events. Come and join in this cacophony of literature, art, music, dance, drama, film, politics and sport in this most westerly part of Europe.

National Famine Commemoration Kilrush and West Clare

The National Famine Commemoration Event, which is being held in Kilrush, has launched its own website. It features the very exciting and extensive program of events from 3rd May 2013 to 12th May 2013. There is something for all interests in the program, so take time to go through the website and find your way to commemorate this significant and tragic event in our history.

Burren Tolkien Symposium

The Burren Tolkien Symposium will be hosted in the Burren with film screenings, writers, workshops, lectures, Burren inspiration walks, networking events for Tolkien Fans. Competitions and lots of fun events included.

Fleadh Nua

Held during the last week of May every year, this 8 day festival focuses on all that we hold to be most Irish such as Irish music, Irish dance and other events that are truly Irish. There will be plenty of concerts, workshops and seminars to keep you and your family entertained.

Burren in Bloom

The Burren in Bloom Festival returns this year with a series of illustrated talks and organised walks throughout the month of May. The Festival, in association with the Burren College of Art and the Burrenbeo Trust, will give people an understanding and appreciation of the Burren and its formation, and how it continues to be a source of great botanical, archaeological, and cultural wealth with its unique wild flowers and ancient sites.

Doonbeg International Jazz Festival

The 14th Doonbeg International Jazz Festival. Its our 14th year and its going to be one to remember! With a full programme of performances throughout the whole weekend, and with an excellent line up of bands and performers it promises to be a great weekend.

Féile Brian Ború Festival

A festival held to commemorate Ireland's Greatest High King, Brian Ború, in his native place. With a huge programme of events with something to suit everyone, this festival is the perfect getaway for all the family!

Spancil Hill Fair

Celebrate Scattery Island 

The Scattery Island Gathering will take place on the weekend of 6 & 7 July and include a warm welcome to west Clare, music, song storytelling, guided tours of Scattery Island, historic renactment and much much more. On the Saturday evening at 7pm ShannonFerry's MV "Shannon Dolphin" will participate with many other local vessels in honour of the event and sail by Scattery. See Image here.

Ennis Street Festival

The Ennis Street Festival aims to provide family-friendly events and activities for both the young and the young at heart through an exciting, exhilarating and colourful mix of Acrobatics, Music, Dance, Visual Art, Workshops, Theatre, Puppet Shows, Street Art, and the local Art & Craft Market.

Willie Clancy Summer Festival

Held annually since 1973 in memory of the piper Willie Clancy, the Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy is Ireland's largest traditional music summer school. During the week, students from every part of the world attend daily classes taught by experts in Irish music and dance.

The Kilrush Music and Set Dancing Festival begins with a Sessiun in the Teach Cheoil on Wednesday Aug 7th at 9p.m. Singers Club in the Haven Arms on Thursday Aug 8th at 10p.m. Music,Set Dancing & Irish Language Classes on Friday from 10a.m. Musicial Boat Trip to Scattery Island on Friday at 1p.m. Open Air Ceili in Kilrush Town Square at 7p.m. followed by Music sessions in the town bars from 10p.m.

Ennis Trad Festival 

The Ennis Trad Festival is a festival for those who love to hear (or play) Irish traditional music of the highest quality in its most natural setting. Over 20 venues host selected exponents of the music, carefully mixed and matched to ensure a choice of many great sessions. In addition, spotlight concerts every night (Thursday to Monday) feature internationally renowned bands. There are many other events too, including CD launches, recitals, instrument and singing masterclasses and céilís.

Russel Memorial Weekend

St Patrick's Day

St. Patrick’s Day is Ireland’s national holiday for the patron saint of Ireland. Most of the towns and villages in Kerry and Clare come alive with parades and local events on the day and traditional music and dance can be found in many pubs in the week surrounding that day.

Good Friday Carrauntoohill Climb

The Good Friday Carrauntoohil Climb is a guided climb to the peak of Ireland's highest mountain 3,414ft. A reasonable level of fitness is essential. The route will start from Cronin's Yard.
